Our Story

Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization that has been in business since 1927. Our mandate is to give back to those who served and continue to serve in our communities and country.

Commissionaires provides security services for over 200 sites and are located in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.

Our guards are not only behind the scenes providing security and access control, but front and centre providing valued customer service to the public.

We are currently recruiting for multiple, casual station attendants for a high profile client. This position will see you work across multiple sites within the Tri-Cities Region. You will be working between 8-16 hours per week. We need casual attendants who can work morning and afternoon shifts.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Providing superior customer service to clients and the public
  • Greeting customers, and assisting them with use of the service
  • Public announcements regarding train difficulties and delays
  • Assisting client with marketing and survey events
  • Administering the Lost & Found
  • Performing random fare validation checks, as well as customer and vehicle counts
  • Monitoring stations for vandalism, maintenance, and safety concerns
  • Keeping station conditions presentable and safe, including trash, snow, and graffiti removal
  • Maintaining equipment and inventory
  • Liaising with law enforcement when necessary
  • Investigating and documenting incidents promptly and accurately
  • First responder in building emergencies such as evacuations and medical emergencies
  • Reporting to the Site Supervisor and Operations management for further duties as necessary

Your Must-Haves:

  • Class 5 Driving Licence
  • OFA 1
  • Minimum 5 years residence in Canada
  • Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public
  • Positive and professional attitude, with strong customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, and equipment such as faxes and photocopiers

Your Nice-To-Haves:

  • Valid BC Security Licence
  • Fluent French would also be an asset.
