Your Opportunity:


As a Power Engineer 3rd Class, you will be responsible for performing repairs and inspections on a variety of building equipment and mechanical systems in accordance with AHS and Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and practices. You will perform maintenance work on power plant and building equipment as well as mechanical systems. In addition, you will operate and maintain the plant in a safe and efficient manner according to ABSA regulations and perform emergency maintenance on building related systems and equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

5 years’ experience in a similar role and in a health care facility setting. Must be mechanically inclined with the desire to take responsibility for a power plant and building systems in multiple facilities within Red Deer, Alberta. Experienced in high pressure Power Plants and institutional maintenance. Communication skills are essential. Must be able to speak, write, and follow written instructions in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the use of computers, peripherals, and various standard office software applications. Experience in the operation of various control systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), boiler controls and safety systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), human machine interfaces (HMI), and fire alarm systems would be considered an asset.
