Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the incumbent is responsible, with his/her team, for activities related to inventory management, planning, procurement and logistics of all products and equipment required for in-flight services (services to passengers on board aircraft performed by flight attendants) as well as the supervision of all weekly deliveries of these products and equipment to the in-flight kitchens in operation in Canada and Europe and possibly in other territories in near future (e.g. USA).The Manager Supply chain and Logistics will provide recommendations for improvement and act as a change management champion for new strategies and initiatives to be implemented including the optimization of the use of the existing MRP system.He/she will mentor, supervise and coach a group of Inventory Coordinators and Specialists involved in supply chain operations covering several geographic territories.Responsibilities
  • Supervise the operations of inventory management, transportation, receiving and shipping of products and equipment to/from the central warehouses and to/from the Canadian and European in-flight kitchens designated by Air Transat;
  • Actively participate in the smooth running of these supply chain operations;
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with key strategic logistics partners in designated territories;
  • Develop and implement effective supply chain management best practices (ABC categories, inventory coverage, economic lot, TCO, ...);
  • Support the assessment and analysis of risks and corresponding risk mitigation plans;
  • Optimize the use of MRP system;
  • If necessary and in collaboration with the Supply Chain Director, lead the selection process of the most appropriate logistics partners. Implement key performance indicators accordingly;
  • Participate in the documentation and updating of the processes and standard operating procedures of the supply chain related to the supply of products and equipment, ensure that these are communicated to the various stakeholders and ensure that these are respected;
  • Suggest ways to optimize these processes and procedures according to company’s objectives (management of costs, lead times, quality of in-flight services, corporate social responsibility) and recommend improvements if necessary;
  • In collaboration with the Director of Supply Chain, establish dashboards to ensure the achievement of the company’s objectives;
  • Lead the staff under his/her authority by respecting and transmitting company’s mission, values and management practices (Direct supervision: between 3 and 5 employees);
  • Perform all other related duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management or another relevant field required;
  • Knowledge of SAP MM mandatory;
  • APICS certification an asset;
  • Experience with manufacturing management software (MRP/ERP);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with an advanced level of Excel;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or another related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a personnel management role;
  • Bilingualism (French-English) spoken and written is essential;
  • Demonstrate leadership skills;
  • Good ability to understand supply chain issues and prioritize accordingly and communicate them to his/her team;
  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external);
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple files simultaneously, both independently and as part of a team;
  • Assessment and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure - sensitivity to the impact of his/her work and the work of his/her team on other teams;
