Children’s Therapy Collective - In-Person Counsellor/Therapist

We are looking for a counsellor to join our group of caring, skilled, and energetic clinicians on a contract/casual basis in our new office space in St. Boniface, Winnipeg.

This is a casual/contract position that offers the following benefits:

  • Flexible schedule: Set your own hours and availability, allowing you to accommodate other employment commitments.
  • Manageable caseload: Determine your ideal caseload size without any pressure to exceed it. Grow your caseload at your own pace.
  • Minimal administrative duties: Focus solely on counselling, as administrative tasks like intake meetings, billing, and marketing are not expected.
  • Access to treatment spaces and equipment: Located in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, our office space is in a cozy residential area. We have two treatment rooms available, with one catered to younger children and one to older children and teens. Various therapy supplies, toys, and games are provided for use.
  • Competitive Compensation: We offer a percentage-based split of fees billed, which will be determined upon hiring, taking into account your education and experience.
  • Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team: Our team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and counsellors all work together as needed to provide holistic care to the families we support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality counselling services to children, youth, and their caregivers
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and case notes through our secure electronic medical record system.
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers and the Children’s Therapy Collective team leadership
  • Maintain ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and knowledge of evidence-based practices.
  • Create an environment of cultural safety for all populations.


  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline from a recognized university. Candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work and relevant training/experience will also be considered.
  • Relevant registration or licensing, along with adequate professional liability insurance.
  • Previous counseling experience, including working with children, youth, and families.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for trauma, attachment, and related concerns.
  • Proficiency in technology, adaptable to various applications and platforms.


  • Training and experience with treatment modalities such as: Play therapy, ACT, Theraplay, Art therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, or EMDR.
  • Ability to speak more than one language.
