About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Acquired Brain Injury Clerk is a member of the inter-disciplinary team and is responsible for greeting and registration of patients; communicating with team members, patients (some of whom may be aphasic) and families in-person and on the phone; admitting and discharging patients; inputting patient diets; for the scheduling, booking and communicating of appointments; for the procurement of patient health records; for coordination and booking of diagnostic tests and communicating these to patients; for assisting in the general organization, patient flow and efficiency of the inpatient unit; and for maintaining accurate statistics and records as required.


The position may be required to provide assistance and coverage throughout the Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services Portfolio.


About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:


  • Grade XII plus one year related experience or one year related program
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Experience using PHS and STAR, preferably in an inpatient care setting; Advanced PHS training preferred
  • Computer experience (Windows, MS Office) and typing/keyboarding are required Minimum of 40 wpm with accuracy
  • Customer service courses an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Co-ordination, organization and decision-making abilities must be present
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in a high volume and high pressure setting
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-Time position; 70 hours bi-weekly


Compensation and Incentives

$22.89 - $24.89 Hourly
