Reporting into the Director of Accounts Payable team, the key focus for the role is to support the AP team through the implementation of the Workday Financial ERP system and to eventually undertake the ongoing system support function related to Workday Financials for Accounts Payable functions. This role will also be part of a larger network of Workday Support Teams which includes other business departments and IT and will serve as the representative of Accounts Payable division’s interest and ownership over the Workday System on this support team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate and assist various functional stream leads with the implementation of the Workday ERP system which may include gathering of user requirements, design, configure, test and implementation.
  • Assist with mapping of current state and the design of future state processes
  • Data mapping, clean up, and upload into the ERP system
  • Configuration of the ERP system to align with design expectations
  • Participation in UAT testing which may include the design of UAT tests
  • Participation in training deliveries and change management as needed
  • Other ad-hoc duties project duties as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring the reliable ongoing performance of the ERP system which may include:
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any Workday related issues and serve as the primary contact for all users within Accounts Payable team
  • Assist with monitoring of system performance and usage to maintain security and reliability. This may include running of reports for validations and checks as defined by AP teams for system governance
  • Assist with testing and validation of new patch releases, fixes, upgrades with other Finance Workday Administrators, workday technical teams and other end users
  • Recommends new features or changes to configuration/workflows based on user feedback
  • Provides guidance and training to AP team members as related to the Workday ERP financial system which may include ongoing maintenance and updates of relevant training materials and training delivery
  • Maintain and update certain low risk system configurations as required following prescribed governance processes
  • Assist IT teams with monitoring of ongoing system integrations from source systems to ERP which may include ensuring data flows and validations are performed and assisting IT teams with issue diagnosis and resolutions
  • Administer issue tracking, change requests, and assist with auditor requests as related to ERP system
  • Participate in future ERP system projects and roll outs as part of potential business acquisitions or divestitures
  • Serve as overall system expert for AP Team as related to Workday and coordinate efforts with IT and HR in overall Workday system maintenance

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • 5-7 years of work experience required, preferably within Accounts Payable space
  • Must have relevant education in Business/Finance or IT
  • Ability to work with complex systems and a strong understanding of system processes and configurations
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and eager to solve issues
  • Must be able to manage efficiently in a high-pressure environment
  • Have attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team and with colleagues across different departments
  • Experience with Workday ERP an asset
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as dictated by business needs
